Mind your language!

What you say and how you say it most certainly has an impact on your daily life but in the professional world, it can be the difference between keeping your job and losing your job.

Using the right language, especially in stressful times is of utmost importance. It is advisable to not lose your cool, especially when things aren’t going well, but we are all human at the end of the day, no one is perfect. At times like these, like the American law, everything you say can or may be used against you which is why using language that is polite and neutral at work is greatly advocated.

Candidates will be asked to stimulate certain challenging scenarios that may happen in the corporate world in the real world, in the controlled environment of their class. Through these stimulations, and based on the words exchanged between the parties involved, candidates will get a first-hand experience of how language can be detrimental to the outcome of a situation. The temptation to vent out is always there within us in tough situations especially, but the difference between a smart person and an average person is that the smart individual will curb the temptation to vent and persevere, whereas a lesser individual will falter.

By teaching candidates certain words and remarks that they can use during stressful situations, we can arm them with a little preparation to deal with what is out there in the real world.
